Fans of GoT knew beforehand that there was something to Jon Snow than meets the eye. So let us trace the origins of our king in the north. We can remember that Catelyn Stark, the Lady of Winterfell, wife of Eddard Stark, had a cold shoulder to Jon Snow as he was known as Ned’s bastard. We can recall that Ned brought him to Winterfell after the war, Robert’s rebellion. Jon was in good terms with his brothers and Arya. Sansa was a little so-so. Yet he was loved fairly by Ned Stark. The last time he and Ned talked about his parentage, it was on his way to Castle Black while Ned was on his way to King’s Landing. Ned told him that the next time they see each other, they’re gonna talk about his mother.
Ned died, the Stark family was massacred, Bran and Rickon believed to be dead, Arya escaped, Sansa, a prisoner of King’s Landing, and Jon was left in Castle Black regretful for leaving Winterfell. So here it goes.
Aerys, the known mad king, had three children. These are Rhaegar, Viserys, and Daenerys. Rhaegar was married to Elia Martell, the princess of Dorne. They had two children. Yet, Rhaegar was in love with Lyanna Stark, Eddard Stark’s sister, who was betrothed to Robert Baratheon, Eddard’s friend. It was said that Rhaegar abducted Lyanna which prompted many houses in the realm to rebel. Brandon and Rickard Stark protested the abduction but they were killed by Aerys. This prompted Robert’s rebellion and eventually, Robert became the next king after Aerys died. Rhaegar also died in the war. Eddard rescued Lyanna on the Tower of Joy only to find out that she was dying after giving birth to Jon, who she named as Aegon. She asked Ned to keep the boy safe. Ned is a friend of Robert’s and for sure, Robert would not want any Targaryen around, so he told everyone that the boy was his bastard and kept everything a secret together with Howland Reed, the only person alive who knows and witnessed the truth (except for Bran of course, who sees everything).
With that information now being revealed, after Sam and Gilly read from the diary of the high septon, Maynard, that Rhaegar had his marriage with Elia Martell annulled, made Jon Snow a legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Jon Snow is a product of two strong houses. He is both a Wolf and a Dragon. That being said, our boy is one true heir to the iron throne and has the right to rule the seven kingdoms. That also means that Daenerys, claiming her rights to the iron throne is his aunt. Queer it may seem but we want to see them together, isn’t that right? Aren’t they a perfect match? We kind of hated the incestuous acts of Jaime and Cersei here but, hey, Dany and Jon is a different story? (Giggles!)
So, there it goes, all hail, Aegon Targaryen, the fifth of his name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, the 998th Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, The King in The North, The King Beyond the Wall, The White Wolf, The Undead. But I always love calling him Jon Snow, though.
